Responsible Gaming

What This Site Can Do

This site carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations on every page, including this one: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them. Wherever an operator is listed, that listing ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout the site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing.

Where Account Controls Live

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check its status or enforce it. Anything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that moment the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published on this page.

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination, inside the account a reader opens there. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour. If a reader wants to put a limit in place, arrange a break, or exclude themselves from play, that has to be set up inside the account at the operator's own site, not here.

Practical Ground Rules

Decide the amount before starting and treat it as spent the moment it goes in. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of judging each bet in the heat of the moment, when it is hardest to be objective about money already at risk.

Never chase a loss. A loss that has already happened cannot be undone by staking more; trying to do so usually just turns one loss into two.

Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Money that has to be repaid carries a second obligation on top of the game itself, and mixing the two makes it much harder to know when to stop.

Take breaks during a session and between sessions. A short pause gives you a chance to notice whether you are still playing for entertainment or for something else entirely.

Involve someone else early, before the pattern feels difficult to talk about. Raising it while it is still small is far easier than raising it once the amounts or the frequency have grown.
